Amazon.co.uk Review
A show that continues to get better and better, True Blood recovered quickly from a divisive first episode or two to evolve into one of the best television series currently running in the US. Season two? It’s gone and made it even better.

The series as a whole is based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris, but they’ve been weaved into television gold by Alan Ball. Ball, previously responsible for Six Feet Under, sets True Blood in a world where vampires are gradually becoming more and more accepted. Living side by side with humans, it’s inevitably not the easiest of worlds, but the scenario offers enough threads for some riveting viewing.

Season two of True Blood in particular is superb. It blends together the blood, sex and mystery that made the show so popular in the first place, but also moves the collection of characters into even more dangerous and edgy situations. Plus, there’s the small matter of an underlying narrative that builds to a terrific finish.

To say much more would be to spoil things, and True Blood is one show that absolutely shouldn’t be spoiled. Instead, it should be savoured, and with that in mind, this terrific second season boxset is a genuine must. --Jon Foster

I am totally addicted to True Blood. The second season is better than the first season because you get to see more of Eric Northman, the funny, sexy and teriffying vampire sheriff of area 5.

4 out of 5 stars A decent second series.   July 19, 2010

True Blood season two pretty takes off a few weeks after the events ending season one.
The season two storyline is a bit more multi threaded than the first season with Jason Stackhouse discovering religion and joining 'Fellowship of the Sun' an anti-vampire militia under the guise of a church, Tara becoming involved with a woman named Maryann who's not all she appears to be and Sookie and Bill's quest to find 'Godric' the missing 2,000-year old vampire Sheriff of Area 9.
The series is well up to the high standards set by season one, though deviation into a more supernatural theme does feel a bit muddled at times, especially the Maryann storyline which runs throughout the whole season and pretty much takes over the final few episodes.
Overall. if you liked the first season then this is definitely a no-brainer and something you'll want to buy.

3 out of 5 stars Too many "enemies"   July 16, 2010

First season was 5 stars but second season does not hold. Tense plot and feelings between characters were replaced with stupid villains. Church would have been enough but god(like) sex maniac was boring attempt to show Americans lots of naked bodies.

I found this highly riveting, and now I am waiting for the next season to come out, I am glad I bought this to watch instead of waiting for the season to be on TV.
